Job description
REQUIREMENTS:
5+ years of business analyst experience required across one or more of the following project types: Business Process Reengineering, Strategy Transformation, Vendor Integration, SDLC (waterfall or Agile) projects
- 3+ years Banking/Financial Services experience required - ideally with a focus on Wealth Management
- Experience with Core Banking technology, or applications such as Online Banking, is highly advantageous
- Experience working in both waterfall and agile Business Analyst positions is strongly preferred as this position requires a high degree of flexibility, creative problem solving and working with little oversight
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (e.g., Business, MIS) or equivalent experience preferred
- Standard industry certification preferred
- Consulting background ideal
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the Information Technology field
- Detail-oriented with a proven history as a self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
- Above average listening skills and adept at active listening techniques
- Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills with ability to present to all levels of the organization
- Results oriented with excellent problem-solving, analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Proficient the use of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Project and MS Visio
- Ability to collaborate with others and understands how individual actions impact the team's/organization's vision and goals
- Experience using Azure DevOps or similar is preferred
- Demonstrated capability of becoming a key player within an established, close team with excellent working relationships is essential
- Experience delivering in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies is strongly preferred
- Experience leading UAT and collaborating with QA is advantageous
- Must approach the position with a hungry 'can do' flexible attitude that looks to add value to the team in any way possible
- Be comfortable working in a complex environment with changing/ developing processes and expectations
- Able to demonstrate and champion the value Business Analysis profession brings to the LOB
Deliverables:
Responsible for scoping project/ initiatives from inception to delivery, working across a wide variety of bank products/ technical applications and teams
- Apply consultative approach to functional and operational procedural planning and design
- Review initiative overview, available documents, artifacts to quickly gain a high-level scope to gain an understanding of the underlying business need and timeline for the project
- Use prior experience, available tools/ templates and prior project artifacts to help lead the scoping and ultimate delivery of initiatives
- Proactively define scope for new initiatives, creating associated epics, user stories and tasks
- Listen and learn to understand the bank systems and processes
- Lead efforts to identify and interview key stakeholders, SMEs, impacted parties
- Provide recommended approaches and roadmap to completing deliverables including MVP's
- Prepares detailed work plans to estimate level of effort, personnel requirements and deliverable schedules based on prior experiences, stakeholder availability, and project complexity
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and requirement sessions to capture and refine business requirements and targeted analysis.
- Plan, schedule and facilitate meetings with business owners & SMEs
- Record & distribute detailed meeting minutes
- Transform minutes into actionable deliverables (User Stories, acceptance criteria, BRD etc.)
- Create detailed current and future state process flows
- Obtain, analyze, and synthesize information from multiple business users to help distinguish request from needs
- Create unambiguous, verified technical and functional business rules and requirements, which close the gap between current and future states for assigned business areas to a testable level
- Create and maintain traceability matrix (requirements, function and testing)
- Become a product, process and/or system expert & support the project throughout the life cycle
- Act as liaison between business and technical members of the project
- Support QA & UAT efforts: creating, reviewing test plans, cases, and scripts as needed
- Ensure adherence to internal practices and standards resulting in consistent development and implementation of project components
- Effectively schedule, interact, and lead meetings with all levels of participants, including technical resources, project team members, business stakeholders, and executives
- Works with project manager or scrum master and squad leaders to ensure business priorities are adequately translated into Initiatives, Epics, User Stories (or business requirements) that are consumable and deliverable by squads
- Understands and takes ownership of requirements and is able to speak to and defend them
- Approaches work in a flexible, solution focused manner and is able to collaboratively lead other team members
- Create rigorously detailed documentation when required but also be flexible and use the 'best-fit' approach for the task at hand

Pay: $60.00 - $66.00 per hour
