BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Assist with the direction of employee relations, the investigation and evaluation process, develop and lead related training for supervisors, and coordinate all other aspects of performance management.

Management of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
Lead and assist with investigations of varying complexities such as employee misconduct, inappropriate behavior, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, workplace violence, theft, substance abuse, falsification, or other potential
violations of district guidelines, expectations, Board Policy or state and/or federal law.
Support and provide guidance to campus and department leaders in employee matters regarding procedures to ensure they are in compliance with district guidelines, Board Policy, state and federal law.
Support and counsel employees by responding to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries, while remaining impartial and confidential.
Resolve concerns in a timely manner and ensure principles and practices are applied consistently and fairly.
Analyze information objectively, develop fact-based conclusions, consult on final determinations, and accurately summarize findings in written reports.
Assist in the development and implementation of consistent practices and processes for employee relations issues including investigative matters.
Support campus and department leaders with employee due process matters, including reviewing and editing or drafting employee documentation.
Maintain a database system for tracking cases and investigations.
Verify information on current and former employees, and respond to requests for information from other employees, supervisors, the general public and other districts.
Coordinate departmental activities with other District offices and administrators and provide assistance to requesting departments.
Follow District and department policies and procedures.

Human Resources Management:
Provide direction and guidance to assigned staff.
Provide input on performance of assigned staff.
Recognize exemplary performance of assigned staff.

Organization Improvement:
Analyze critical needs in assigned areas and work collaboratively to implement and improve programs.

Professional Growth and Development:
Participate in professional development that increases effectiveness and improves District performance.

Assist in the development, implementation and delivery of performance management and employee relations-related trainings on an ongoing basis.

School/Community Relations:
Interface with governmental agencies, business and civic organizations, and the community to provide needed information and to promote the District's initiatives.

Organization Morale:
Foster positive morale by participating in team building activities and the decision-making process.
Communicate and collaborate with campus/department staff to enhance service delivery, program development, and customer satisfaction.

Other Responsibilities:
Comply with policies established by federal and state law, including but not limited to State Board of Education and local Board policy.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Provide guidance and direction to assigned staff.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Knowledge of employee relations and management, and general human resources business practices and processes.
Knowledge of best practices in human resource/employee supervision.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Skill in preparing and maintaining accurate records.
Skill in applying applicable policies and procedures.
Skill in operating standard computer and software applications, including but not limited to electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
Skill in analyzing complex information.
Ability to prioritize and organize work responsibilities and delegate appropriate departmental tasks effectively.
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of related experience.

PHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS:
Maintain emotional control under stress.
Work with frequent interruptions.
Sit for extended periods of time.
Use computer for prolonged period resulting in repetitive hand motions.
Lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. occasionally.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Work is normally performed in a typical interior office work environment with no unusual physical demands or exposure to hazardous situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $67,944.64 - $82,860.64 per year
