Job description

Self-directed and proven Healthcare Services Controller to drive the accounting, financial consolidation, corporate costs, financial reporting, audit and tax processes. The Controller will also have responsibility for accounts payable and payroll. The candidate must possess strong technical accounting skills but also have the process and analytical foresight to build an accounting organization and business processes to scale up to the growth and requirements of the business. Controller will report to the VP of Finance.

Must Haves


  • Multi-site physician practice management experience
  • CPA and Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA firm audit experience
  • Healthcare revenue recognition and prior RCM oversight
  • Demonstrated process improvement expertise
  • Mid-market cloud-based ERP expertise (i.e., NetSuite, Dynamics 365, Sage Intacct) with recent system implementation expertise (highly preferred)
  • Minimum of 15 years' accounting experience and experience in Controllership positions with multiple companies

Results Measured by the Following Key Responsibilities


  • Responsible for GAAP accounting, reporting, month-end close, and consolidation of the financial results.
  • Ability to build scalable accounting and control processes and lead a small team at the pace of business growth
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition and accounts receivable and reserving. Work with the Revenue Cycle director to ensure the accuracy of reported net revenue
  • Ability to manage the details and accuracy of a controllership function but also set a vision and stay ahead of the growth and changing needs of the company
  • Support the financial reporting requirements of the business and key stakeholders including executive management, operational leaders, the sponsor and lenders
  • Monitor the financial performance of the company to plan, assess controls and stay on top of the requirements of the business as they change
  • Produce accurate and timely financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Direct Cash Projections
  • Manage the audits and implement required process changes in line with accounting standards
  • Build scalable processes and define clearly the roles and responsibilities of each member. Develop a positive and efficient culture that is results driven
  • Lead the accounting diligence and acquisition integration for M&A transactions. Possess technical experience in acquisition accounting
  • Ensure the business processes and the team are supported by effective technology
  • Ensure proper controls are in place and policies and procedures are communicated and followed in the organization
  • Monitor financial condition by conducting audits; serve as point person to external auditors
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements and filings
