Hexcel is currently seeking a Quality Lab Test Engineer for our Salt Lake City, UT, USA, Matrix location.

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

  • Ensure deliverable products meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations.
  • Communicate with customers, marketing, and customer service to resolve problems associated with deliverable products.
  • Facilitate root cause analyses and mistake proofing of processes to resolve repetitive quality issues.
  • Execute MSA's on testing equipment to assist in product variability reduction.
  • Maintain and improve testing methods to ASTM/EN/SRM/ISO standards.
  • Conduct testing and quality training and maintain integrity of quality and testing records.
  • Write and define test procedures, including configuration of testing configurations.
  • Testing failure review and failure resolution.
  • Use Lean Six Sigma principles to drive improvements in our test design timing and platforms.
  • Drive error free processing in testing processes in a manufacturing environment.


Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in a technical degree required, engineering discipline preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in ISO and/or other quality systems required. ASTM/Nadcap experience preferred. Greater than 2 years Test engineering background preferred.
  • Experience with developing procedures and test instructions with an emphasis on repeatability and reproducibility.
  • Familiarity with Instron test frames and chemical testing methods and equipment.
  • Able to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Strong data analysis statistical background required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt strongly preferred.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office and ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers.
  • Experience leading new equipment qualifications. Familiarity with LIMS and Blue Hill Software preferred.
  • CQE certificate from American Society for Quality preferred.
