Job description
What We're Looking For
Directs and coordinates client relationship and business development efforts in an assigned region. Develops, implements, and maintains effective strategies and key relationships to support sales and marketing programs that provide for maximum exposure to new business prospects within the established goals and objectives of the office. Develops and implements strategic promotional programs and marketing plans, cultivates and develops client relationships, leads and supports the development of proposals, presentations, and qualification packages. Presents appropriate marketing reports and recommendations to office management.
Primary Focus Will Include:
- Develops, and expands client relationships across the Capital Region (Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia).
- Attends professional conferences, seminars, and industry events to build connections
- Participates in local and State public and government forums and events to develop understanding of priorities and challenges and establish credibility as invested partner
- Identifies key relationships required for the expansion of the business, leveraging leadership and SME's to grow and deepen HNTB's role as trusted advisor
- Partners with Marketing and Client Service Leads to develop strategy and deliver impactful, targeted communications
- Supports the development and implementation of the office strategic plan, performing market research to identify and prioritize clients and opportunities
- Engages with key pursuits identified through the strategic planning process.
- As integral member of focused client service teams, provides context and background, identifies opportunities and gaps, and makes recommendations around strategy and solutions
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 15 years of transportation industry experience in planning, design or construction.
- Minimum of 3 years of client-based business development experience within the transportation industry
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
- Ability to develop and convey strategic communications and messages.
- Distill technical information into clear and concise materials for marketing and client communications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Prepares marketing reports and recommendations.
- Develops strategies for individual marketing efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related degree
- 5 years related experience
