Human Resources Intern


Position Description:

IDG is recruiting a Human Resources Intern for January 2022-May 2022. This is a paid internship. The successful candidate must be able to commit to at least 24 hours per week. IDG's internship program is open to currently enrolled students in undergraduate and graduate programs. Individuals who have already graduated are also eligible.

We are looking to employ an enthusiastic and driven HR intern to assist our HR department with administrative and HR-related task. The HR intern's responsibilities include filing HR documents accordingly, assisting with background check, drafting employee communications notifying staff of policy and procedural changes, etc.

The HR Intern will directly report to IDG's Human Resources Manager.

Location: Arlington, VA / Remote

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

  • Update our internal databases with new employee information, including contact details and employment forms
  • Gather payroll data like leaves, working hours and bank accounts
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed
  • Proofread HR documents
  • Track progress, priorities, and deadlines of various projects
  • Learn about the company's HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related stuff to be able to respond to any internal staff inquiries. Provide administrative support to HR staff and company managers
  • Review and distribute company policies in digital formats or hard copies
  • Collect and update our database with new hire information (e.g. employment forms and contact information)
  • Assist HR Manager in gathering market salary information
  • Review new hire paperwork for accuracy and compliancy
  • Help in organizing company events and corporate activities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of U.S. labor laws and compliance standards. Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
  • The ability to work as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • Strong attentional to detail is required.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
