Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting in sales to contractor salespeople and their customer's accounts.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position is responsible for standard daily sales functions such as:

1. Providing support to a sales partner
2. Facilitate and maintain required / recommended documentation
3. Receive and process orders and/or quotes by email and in person
4. Coordination of deliveries with dispatcher as needed
5. Must have a valid driver's license to make occasional deliveries
6. Responsible for maintaining a cash drawer as assigned
7. Initiate and follow up on special orders
8. Working with suppliers or applicable yard personnel in order to ensure timely order delivery / pickup
9. Follow work schedule to ensure proper coverage
10. Follow all procedures for handling special orders as outlined by management
11. Daily use of software relating to sales and delivery
12. Additional duties as required or assigned by management

EDUCATION:

Minimum: H.S. Diploma or GED

Preferred but not required: Some college or technical school training in construction trades

EXPERIENCE:

12 months experience in sales in the lumber industry or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

- Ability to provide excellent customer service, communication skills

- Ability to work well as a team or independently

- Ability to learn operating systems, in order to enter orders and quotes

- Ability to do basic math, read orders, follow instructions, and complete forms

- Communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors using verbal, written, or other skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

-Sitting for long periods of time

-Lift 50 pounds up to a height of 5 feet

-Carry 100 pounds over a distance exceeding 12 feet

-Push 100 pounds in a wheeled cart

-Bend, stoop, or squat to floor level on a repetitive basis

-Reach over head to grasp materials

-Stand for up to 4 hours at a time

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

-May work inside in many different environments

-May work outside in temperatures ranging from extreme heat

to extreme cold

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION:

Valid operator's license
