Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Candidate shall create reference architecture patterns for use at the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) that IT engineers can use to build systems for the movement, transformation, conditioning, and storage of big data in the cloud.
  • These patterns should correspond to objectives, capabilities, and skill sets identified as part of future strategic planning.
  • Work should include capturing NGIC requirements for the storage of big data including but not limited to video, imaging, sensor data, and modeling data. Using these requirements, architecture patterns should reflect best practices using hardware and software solutions to make this data more accessible for exploitation and distribution within the Army MI cloud, including transformation between common formats and cleaning data not aligned to expected values.
  • Lastly, the contractor should provide at least two solutions architectures based on reference architecture patters for migrating existing datasets to the Army MI cloud. Work should integrate with established NGIC architecture and be based on best practices defined by AWS and DoD.

Please note, this is an individual contributor position, with the Program Manager (PM) of a multi-discipline, non-architecture, IT contract at Fort Belvoir, VA. Candidate must be able to work independently with the client, with no technical guidance from the PM. Weekly and monthly reporting of work performed is required.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years or Master's Degree with 5 years of enterprise architect experience in a classified environment.
  • DOD TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility as recorded in DISS at time of application.
  • Ability to sit for a CI Polygraph if required.
  • Enterprise architect experience on one or more big data projects.
  • Enterprise architect experience involving multimedia files.
  • Enterprise architect experience involving cloud migrations.
  • Expert understanding of current hardware and software required for big data cleaning and migration.
  • AWS experience.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communications skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Recent enterprise architecture experience within the Intelligence Community.
  • Recent experience working at NGIC.
