Vibrent, a rapidly growing health-tech company, is seeking for a Data Business Analyst who will work with the Product Management team on bioinformatic based data strategies for the Vibrent Research Platform. This cloud-based enterprise B2B system enables research and clinical professionals throughout the U.S. to design and manage large research projects and clinical trials for large numbers of participants that contribute through web and mobile applications. This position works hand-in-hand with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams to define meaningful and extensible data models to support data curation and return of results.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Product.
Responsibilities & Duties
The Data Business Analyst will define the methods, tools, and algorithms to analyze and curate health data for use within the Vibrent Research Platform. The scientist will research and define healthcare data models of a person's health, social determinants, environmental factors as well as any other attributes relevant for different studies. The scientist will build data products by defining data models and lineage, building data pipelines for systematically generating health insights, and creating segments of participants populations for different research studies. The scientist will define how information should be returned to the participant so they can best understand, utilize and gain value from the interaction.
The Data Business Analyst should be highly analytical with a knack for analysis, math and statistics. The scientist should have critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Identify valuable data sources and build integrations to bring data into the platform.
- Specify data curation rules for processing structured and unstructured data.
- Specify data aggregation rules for presenting meaningful bioinformatic data participants.
- Analyze collected, curated and aggregated data to discover trends and patterns.
- Build predictive models and machine-learning algorithms.
- Develop data structures representing the health data of individuals.
- Combine data models through ensemble modeling.
- Define approaches to present information using data visualization techniques.
- Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams.
- Review and assessing customer requirements.
- Analyze customer data needs and data models.
- Defining product requirements.
- Work with development scrum teams as a Product Owner.
- Create work products as needed including requirements and system documentation.
- Analyze root causes of production and data issues.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a product or engineering role
- Candidate must have a systems background with an engineering bachelor's degree. Graduate degree in data or quantitative health science field is preferred.
- Experience in bio-informatic data modeling, data analysis or data mining for health care delivery and research is required.
- Knowledge of FHIR or other applicable standards.
- Technical background with high level understanding on system interfaces.
- Experience in patient segmentation or cohort analysis is preferred.
- Experience using business intelligence tools and data frameworks.
- Understanding of machine-learning and operations research.
- Knowledge of SQL and Python; familiarity with Kubernetes and AWS environment an asset.
