Job description

We are currently looking for high-achieving team players that are quickly adaptable to new challenges to join a fast-growing company in Keswick, VA as an Accounts Payable Specialist. Responsible for processing Accounts Payable invoices and Payments, while ensuring adherence to guidelines, controls, and policies around Accounts Payable processes. To succeed, you must value customer satisfaction, work well with a team, be quality focused, and above all be flexible and adapt well to evolving environments.

Requirements:

  • Maintains all accounts payable files to include filing invoices in designated areas and updating vendor information on company database.
  • Assist with reconciling Fixed Assets.
  • Process remittance information from checks, drafts and wire transfers for invoices provided by vendors, reviewing instructions accompanying items to determine proper disposition and crediting accounts in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Matches purchase orders with vendor invoices to assure accuracy and prepare for computer entry daily.
  • Prepares and mails all accounts payable checks according to company procedures and includes supporting documentation.
  • Audit vendor files (and setup) to ensure info is up to date.
  • Ensures all vendors have W-9 on file.
  • Prints all accounts payable reports.
  • Monitors all paperwork, invoices, correspondence, and verbal communication with vendors. •
  • Performs end-of-month procedures as required including some account reconciliations. • Researches and responds to all Account payable inquiries in a prompt manner.
  • Prepares and mails 1099s annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies:

  • Minimum of five year of experience in accounting field.
  • Excellent and professional verbal/written communication skills.
  • Operates with a Customer Service mindset.
  • Approaches tasks with positive attitude; demonstrates initiative and creativity in identifying customer and business needs.
  • Able to work in a fast paced and changing work environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, effectively manages time, and prioritizes work responsibilities appropriately while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in typing and 10-key. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Outlook, Excel)
