The Director of Nursing has the responsibility for the administration of Nursing Department and the coordination of resident nursing care services. The Director of Nursing utilizes clinical and management expertise to develop implement and evaluate resident care for the facility. Ensures the quality of resident care provided. The position encompasses specific areas and facility wide administration management collaboration and education. May perform other duties as assigned.


Education:

- Graduate of a school of registered nursing required.

- BSN and MSN preferred.


Experience:

- 3-5 years of progressive management experience, which has provided opportunities to develop skills in nursing practice and in the application of administrative principles.

- Previous experience in the management of multiple unit/services and experience with long term care preferred.


Licensure/Certification:

- Licensed or eligible by the State of Virginia as an RN.
