Temporary to Hire
Work Schedule:
+ 1:00PM to 9:30PM, Monday-Friday.
About the position:
+ Primary test responsibilities are Karl Fischer water titrations, and off-shift coverage for ICP, viscometrics and potentiometric titrations.
Responsibilities
+ Active participant in company safety culture.
+ Maintain up-to-date understanding of company, industry and government safety procedures and regulations, and ensure compliance.
+ Perform safe and sound laboratory practices in general.
+ Primary role running Karl Fisher titrations.
+ Provide back-up support for a broad range of tests, with an emphasis on maintaining our highest throughput tests, ICP, titrations, and viscosity.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
+ Participate in ISO related activities with an up-to-date understanding of the ISO function. Maintain quality documentation.
Qualifications:
+ High school graduate, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
+ Demonstrated lab and/or chemistry training, experience, or aptitude.
Education and Experience Preferred:
+ Associate degree or bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science or related field. At least 2 years of experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory. Customer service.
+ Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
Skills and Abilities:
+ Demonstrate basic knowledge of safe laboratory practices and procedures.
+ Basic computer literacy (i.e., Microsoft Office, Word, Excel).
+ Ability to perform standardized laboratory procedures with intermediate to minimal supervision. Effectively manage multiple tasks and changing priorities to achieve completion within the agreed-on timeframe.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with fellow analysts, researchers, and stakeholders across Afton's organizational matrix to achieve business objectives.
+ Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly in an engaging and convincing manner.
