Position: Human Resources Director

Location: Vienna or Dumfries, VA

Overview: Seeking a caring Human Resources professional who will report to the CEO and serve as the key advisor on all aspects of Human Resources, benefits, talent management, strategies, and compliance. Requires the ability and agility to balance the needs of 115+ employee-owners with corporate limitations. Responsible for all aspects of employee relations, benefits, compensation, performance management, training, workforce planning, and all other HR-related functions. This HR Director will need to understand and embrace Group W's unique culture characterized by an egalitarian mindset, a quest for exceptional performance, a distaste for bureaucracy, and disdain for stupidity. Requirements:

  • Bachelor's / four-year degree in Human Resources or related field, or 14+ years' experience in lieu of a degree
  • 12+ years' progressive mix of Human Resources experience, with knowledge of Human Resources compliance in government/defense contracting

  • Commitment to preserving Group W's unique, treasured culture amid the dynamics of managing, and potentially scaling growth
  • Knowledge, experience on most aspects of HR benefits, rule sets and how to avoid snafus supporting geographically distant, some overseas, and SOFA compliance
  • Prior HR Director experience within a small business not mandatory, but a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Human Resources Subject Matter Expert (SME) on HR policies related to benefits, compensation, employment development, performance management, and all other HR related functions
  • Consult with leadership, program managers, and employee-owners in the strategic planning process and development of HR strategies that support business needs
  • Provide guidance and ensure compliance on employment law, OFCCP requirements, reporting, compensation, and other federally mandated requirements
  • Serve as a strategic business partner and first point of contact to managers and employee-owners on all Human Resources issues and policies
  • Mentoring, coaching, team building and conflict resolution when appropriate/required
  • Plan, develop, communicate, and implement Human Resource strategies and initiatives
  • Work collaboratively in a team or committee environment to plan, help coordinate and schedule corporate events and social activities
  • Work closely with the Group W Employee Benefits Analysis Committee to ensure that Group W remains a top 1% benefits employer
  • Work directly with CEO and designated Board committees to consistently model, educate and promote Group W culture, traits and values
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, establishing networks, and participating in professional groups
