Job description
JOB SUMMARY
As part of our recent growth, we are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the IT Manager and interfaces with users and managers at all levels to provide useful information from data sources and to provide support and training.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop / run Ad Hoc and standard reports utilizing Crystal Reports and Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Create, modify, and manipulate Excel spreadsheets.
- Recognize, troubleshoot and resolve Infor Visual Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software data and related issues / anomalies.
- Assist Visual ERP users with a wide variety of issues relating to database application functionality.
- Perform routine tasks such as running software utilities.
- Schedule, prepare, set up and conduct software training sessions.
- Run SQL scripts to research issues and update data.
- Run queries and / or reports to identify data entry errors and issues.
- Create and maintain documentation such as procedures and flowcharts.
- Research and follow up on Work In Process (WIP).
- Research barcoding anomalies. Train and follow up with barcode users.
- Provide support for and participate in lean manufacturing projects and project implementation.
- Assist with projects including software implementation, adding application functionality, and department initiatives.
- Research Visual issues / solutions on software manufacturer website.
- Work with technical support and outside consultants.
- Set up, manage, modify and remove user accounts.
- Possess an understanding of database structure and concepts.
- Ability to perform basic front-end processes in ERP software modules, including but not limited to receiving, planning, inventory, and shipping.
- Ability to test issues in a test database as a step to resolution, and to recognize when it is prudent to use a test environment.
- Ability to test ideas in a test database prior to implementing a new process.
- Advanced computer literacy in Windows environment including MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Skilled in using reporting software such as Crystal Reports or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
- Knowledge of demand-supply relationship and how it affects and restricts data entry.
- Knowledge of Visual ERP software tables and relationships.
- Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) concepts and functionality.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, team oriented, and ability to deal with a wide variety of personalities and learning styles.
- Ability to train and / or give presentations to individuals and groups.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Able to make independent decisions based on input.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work off hours including weekends and holidays if needed.
- Ability to travel within the Puget Sound Region.
- Ability to read, write, communicate and/or follow written and verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to communicate in English through voice, or American Sign Language or adaptive technology.

PREFERED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Associate degree from a two-year college or university in a similar field of study.
- Three (3) years of working experience in utilizing database applications (front-end or back-end) and developing SQL queries.
