Job description

Do you want to apply machine learning to a completely new field for Amazon? Our team, part of Amazon Halo, is launching a new ambitious project with a heavy dose of both. You will work with (and help build) a team dedicated to applying ML techniques to help make people's lives better. Datasets will come from our own experiments. Success depends on the team's ability to demonstrate value of ML techniques for their business while improving their own customers' lives.

* PhD degree with 4 years of applied research experience or a Masters degree and 6+ years of experience of applied research experience
* 3+ years of experience in building machine learning models for business application
* Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language
* PhD in ML or equivalent experience
* Algorithm implementation experience as well as the ability to modify standard algorithms (e.g. changing objectives, working-out the math, implementing and scaling)
* Strong programming skills in at least one object oriented programming language (e.g., Python)
* Knowledge of or experience in building production quality and large scale deployment of applications related to ML.
* Ability to develop prototypes by manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume data from varying sources
* Eager to learn and invent new algorithms, to keep up-to-date with literature, explore new application areas and new tools.
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience with PPG data
* Experience with deep learning
* Track-record of novel algorithm development
* Experience with AWS computing infrastructure for machine learning
