Job Title: Corporate Counsel - Commercial and Employment
Department: Legal
Reports to: General Counsel
Location: Remote - U.S.
Summary:
Fabric is seeking a highly engaged attorney with a passion for all things employment and commercial to join the small but mighty Legal Team. The Corporate Counsel will be the second attorney at Fabric and have an opportunity to support all aspects of the company. Primary areas of support include employment counseling and drafting and reviewing commercial agreements. This position is an integral role at a hyper growth commerce SaaS company and will work in close collaboration with company leaders across our global business.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on a broad range of employment law matters, including recruiting, employee relations, compensation and benefits, leaves of absence, immigration, workplace investigations and terminations
- Support revenue teams by negotiating commercial contracts
- Assure compliance with international, federal, state and local laws and advise on new laws, regulations and decisions affecting Fabric
- Draft and review employment, noncompete and separation agreements, policies, handbooks and code of conduct
- Develop and conduct training and education programs for employees and managers
- Assist with other strategic legal and business matters as needed
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school
- 5-7 years legal experience, prior in-house experience preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills, judgment, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and act decisively
- Organized, detail-oriented, resourceful and flexible
- Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner
- Have a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving
