Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for tasks supporting plant finance at the corporate level regarding manufacturing costing for Lamb Weston. This includes period-end close activities, account reconciliations and assistance with the preparation of monthly internal financials analysis. This position requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). This position will partner frequently with personnel at all levels within the Plant Finance & Controllers Organization and throughout the Company. In addition, this position will require extensive knowledge and competency using a multitude of data systems to accommodate expected support of departments outside of finance on a continuous basis.
Job Description
* Provide support for internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP and/or other local regulatory requirements.
* Perform supply chain period-end close activities with timely completion of assigned tasks, including identification and resolution of unusual items and issues in a timely and accurate manner.
* Prepare monthly reports for management consisting of but not limited to Plant Actual GL Data, Cost Allocation, Manufacturing Actual to Plan Variances.
* Participate actively in recurring and special projects involving accounting matters, such as policy updates, compliance support, and process improvement initiatives.
* Create and maintain monthly accounting schedules as support for the balance sheet account reconciliations for the purposes of financial audits (whether requested by external service provider, internal audit or the external auditor).
* Assist in internal and external audits.
* Maintain effectiveness of processes, procedures, and control environment.
* Effectively communicate information impacting both internal and external customers.
* Alert management of situations that may materially affect the company's overall financial condition.
* Successfully work in a team environment and across business groups within the company.
* Ensure compliance with SOX Controls and Lamb Weston policies.
* Review results from closing of financial systems and identify and resolve unusual items and issues in a timely and accurate manner.
* Prioritize multiple activities to ensure accurate and timely completion of both scheduled and extemporaneous tasks within a tight deadline.
* Create and continually fine-tune procedures, policies, and processes relative to Supply Chain Finance (Cost Accounting), including enhancement and/or automation of routine functions.
* Research and respond to ad-hoc requests from management.
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with Accounting Emphasis.
* Advanced degree, CPA or other professional designation desired, but not required.
* Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in the cost field, with exposure to manufacturing
* operations.
* Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proven ability to balance attention to extreme detail with broader goals and time limitations.
* Advanced technical knowledge and skills, and a proven ability to collaborate well with a broad spectrum of departments: Plant Finance, Procurement, Demand Planning, Operations Business, RQI.
* Proven ability to self-direct and manage multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion in a deadline driven environment, while being able to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
* Proven record of good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency with MS Office software especially Excel, ASI, BOM, UC, SAP, QA Spec, SQL.
