We are looking for an experienced Civil Construction Oversight Inspector for an assignment in the Federal Way Link Extension project field office, working in a diverse team of professionals for a major design-build transit project in the Seattle area.
You will apply your Design-Build knowledge of building, civil and structural engineering and construction aspects of transit facility construction, architectural finishes, and site improvements, while collaborating with the construction management oversight team. You will report to the lead facilities construction engineer and deputy construction manager to monitor and document daily construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.

How will you contribute to the team?
* Perform regular field visits to active construction sites, complying with all relevant safety procedures.
* Verify daily construction activities.
* Ensure contractor's work adheres to approved design and construction related submittals, contract documents and project requirements.
* Produce daily field reports including photographs to document progress.
* Review Contractor's Construction Work Plan and test results for compliance.
* Perform field oversight review of contractor's activities for compliance with construction quality procedures.
* Assist with the identification and resolution of non-compliant activities.
* Support lead facilities engineer with the review of contractor's progress payments.
* Monitor contractor's adherence to project schedule and proactively identify and report schedule challenges.
* Support the lead facilities construction engineer and deputy construction manager in developing punch lists and ascertaining Final Project Acceptance.
* Liaise with the contractor, client representatives and third parties.
* Respond to project inquiries and attend design and progress meetings as required.
* Assist with the documentation and resolution of non-compliant construction activities.
What will you contribute?
* Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
* At least five years' experience in facility, structure and civil construction observations and/or a combination of design and construction related experience.
* Understand construction industry standards and practices in Washington.
* Experience working on public agency projects in the transportation sector.
* Experience with design-build transportation projects preferred.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Valid driver's license.
