Together, we can help people build stronger communities - we're just getting started.Facebook Reality Lab Research is looking for upcoming scientists and researchers with great interest in algorithm/hardware co-design and acceleration of 'machine learning'/'computer vision' applications, efficient sensing and ML algorithms for AR/VR applications. Our internships are twelve (12), to sixteen (16), or twenty-four (24) weeks long and we have various start dates throughout the year.
Required Skills
- Research on design / model / execution of ML algorithm on hardware architectures.
- Research on novel of ML or computational imaging algorithms for applications and optimize existing algorithms.
- Collaboration with and support of other researchers across various disciplines.
- Communication of research agenda, progress and results.
- Prototyping, building and characterizing experimental systems and custom hardware.
Minimum Qualification
- Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a PhD in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Experience developing machine learning and computer vision algorithms.
- 2+ years of lab experience carrying out independent research.
- 2+ years experience in programming, simulation and modelling experience with language such as C/C++, Python.
- Interpersonal skills: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
- Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
Preferred Qualification
- Experience in Deep Learning algorithm development frameworks such as PyTorch, Tensor Flow, etc.
- Experience in Deep Learning algorithm development with NAS.
- Experience in machine learning, computer vision, and computational imaging algorithms with hardware constraints.
- Experience in ASIC development is a plus.
- Hardware prototyping and System-on-Chip design using embedded systems such as FPGAs, DSP processors etc is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience via an internship, work/research experience, or widely used contributions to open source projects.
- Track record of publications with cutting edge research results at conferences and Journals (CVPR, ICCV, ISCA, ISSCC, etc).
- Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op.
