Content Management Consultant- Tax Conversion

Develops and oversees standard technology specifications, data structures and content for specific products. Responsible for development and support of publishing technologies, and the collection and selection of content. Responsible for the design, development and support of electronic products with regards to both content and technology ramifications. Designs, develops, and deploys translation programming as required for print products and/or electronic media.

Supervise and facilitate tax professionals in the development of income tax conversion programs allowing professionals to move between tax preparation software applications. The position also includes preparation and distribution of customer facing guidance, supervision of customer support staff, and sales force education.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage and facilitate development of tax conversion programs through semi-annual releases, including planning, road-mapping, monitoring status of development teams, and assistance with prioritization and tax issues.
  • Manage customer return flow from submission through conversion and receipt by firms, partnering with the File Processing team to identify potential problems and customer communication requirements.
  • Manage competitor relationships to facilitate receipt and distribution of competitor tax preparation software.
  • Maintain reciprocal relationships with competitor and internal counterparts.
  • Create, update, and distribute all customer facing communications in relation to conversions.
  • Create and provide status reporting to executive management and other stakeholders
  • Partner with Conversion Development Manager to continuously expand conversion and file processing capabilities.
  • Partner with Sales to educate and set appropriate expectations regarding conversion processes and scope.
  • Manage tax and support teams, to include hiring full-time and seasonal staff, team building and support, individual professional thank growth, and problem resolution.

Job Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, or equivalent

Experience:
  • At least 8 - 10 years of professional income tax preparation in a public accounting firm, using ProSystem fx and/or CCH Axcess Tax or a major market competitor, or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years managing multiple small teams, or equivalent.
  • Experience using written and communications skills for a widely ranging audience, including all levels of income tax preparation professional.
  • Experience onboarding, training, and facilitating professional growth of subordinate staff

  • Ability to manage professional relationships with competitors
  • Familiarity with Agile or Kanban Project Management methodologies helpful
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite - particularly Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook.

Travel requirements
  • Limited travel, as required for internal meetings
