Administrative Assistant

In this role you will provide administrative support to two departments here at Omeros. You will provide analytical and administrative support to executives, administrators, managers, and staff in the Clinical Development group,as well as the Medical Affairs, Medical Science Liaison and Pharmacovigilance groups. The ideal candidate will be highly detail oriented, motivated for growth and success, as well as, an excellent communicator and organizer.

Who is Omeros?

Omeros is a commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to discovering, developing and commercializing small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market and orphan indications targeting inflammation, complement-mediated diseases, disorders of the central nervous system and immune-related diseases, including cancers. In addition to its commercial product OMIDRIA (phenylephrine and ketorolac intraocular solution) 1%/0.3%, Omeros has multiple phase 3 and phase 2 clinical-stage development programs focused on complement-mediated disorders and substance abuse. Small-molecule inhibitors of GPR174 are part of Omeros' proprietary G proteincoupled receptor (GPCR) platform through which it controls 54 new GPCR drug targets and their corresponding compounds. The company also exclusively possesses a novel antibody-generating platform.

What are your job responsibilities?

  • Provides all around clerical support functions for clinical and medical affairs departments
  • Schedules meetings and manages executive calendars
  • Manages filing system for executives and department
  • Handles special projects and executes research and data analysis tasks
  • Communicates regularly with a variety of healthcare and medical professionals (written and oral)
  • Analyzes problems as requested, complies and analyzes data and prepares reports
  • Work may be of a critical or confidential nature
  • Enter and maintain purchasing requisitions/contracts (in Oracle)
  • Coordinates activities internally and with outside parties
  • Interacts with company employees at all organizational levels to gather information
  • Tracks Clinical and Medical Affairs finances and reconciles with Finance department
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, Skills, and Knowledge Required:

  • For a level 2, a college diploma (or equivalent) and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a business office/professional environment is required. For a level 3, a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) is preferred, with a minimum of two years of experience in a business office/professional environment required
  • Strong computer skills in applications used in general office settings including word processing, spreadsheet, data base management, presentation software and Internet search engines, and experience using copier, fax machines, filing are required
  • Excellent grammatical and proofreading skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills are essential
  • Must display strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write routine reports and correspondence are required
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment are critical
  • Must represent Omeros in a professional manner

Behavioral Competencies Required:

  • The ability to build and maintain positive relationships with management, peers, and subordinates
  • Must be proactive and able to work independently

Physical Demands Required:

  • Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • May encounter prolonged periods of sitting or standing
