Responsibilities
The Role
Full time position is a part of the Finance Department under the general supervision of the Accounts Payable Supervisor. The position is primarily responsible for timely resolution of problem files, payables process improvement, and development & training of new and existing AP staff.
Schedule
Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm (some flexibility)
Essential Responsibilities Include but Not Limited To
- Accurate high volume entry of invoices & data into our electronic processing system
- Reconciling invoices to inventory in coordination with buyers and vendors when a three way match fails
- Researching and resolving stalled or complicated problem cases and accounts to maintain vendor satisfaction while protecting the corporation's resources
- Provide feedback to AP staff on findings and resolutions to advance the knowledge and proficiency of the entire team
- Maintaining clear and accurate records of coordination and research for use by other departments if needed
- Train and support new AP staff on essential software and practices for accurate and timely payment of invoices
- Develop and maintain AP procedure and reference documentation
- Determine or coordinate appropriate Ledger accounts and approvals for atypical expenditures
- Other related projects or duties as assigned to support the success of the Finance Department
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience or combination of similar experience and related formal education
- Experience using software systems for invoice handling and reconciliation
- Experience training or coaching at least one colleague in AP functions
- Strong data entry skills - typing and 10-key by touch at high accuracy
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures
- Intermediate MS Excel proficiency
- Clear verbal and written communications skills

- Able to advance their own skills and understanding after introductory training
- Has experience communicating with vendors and buyers in terms meaningful to them
- Has experience researching in an electronic inventory system or ERP
- Has experience with Great Plains Dynamics and/or Altec Doc-Link, and/or Retalix
- Works independently while conforming to department policies and controls
- Speaks multiple languages
