Position Description:

International Aviation-focused professional service firm seeks experienced Project Manager to provide contract services to Puget Sound area aviation client. Position is a contract opportunity without benefits. An ideal opportunity for a talented and experienced individual looking to work with great people. The successful candidate must reside in the greater-Seattle area. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed. While the primary location for this position is Renton, Washington, this role will support requirements across the Puget Sound area and international regions (i.e., central, southeast and northeast Asia).

Ideal for professional seeking challenging work combined with schedule flexibility; positions can require some evening and weekend work and will require international travel (post-pandemic). Position is hourly with flexible hours and compensation commensurate with experience. Note that this is not an engineering, IT, construction or technical project management position. The focus is on customer support and event management. This position is best suited for those currently performing project management duties and experienced in coordinating executive-level training events.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum two to five years diverse and successful Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, communication and technical skills
  • Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision, and a strong work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to work across teams and multiple functions
  • USA right-to-work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five to seven years diverse and successful Program/Project Management experience
  • Global experience, cross-cultural sensitivity, foreign language skills (Mandarin preferred)
  • Seasoned technical customer support professional
  • Event Management, Training or Education experience
  • PMI Certification (or similar)
  • Virtual Team experience
  • Familiarity with The Boeing Company
  • Aerospace business development experience
  • Six Sigma/LEAN
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Project and experience with SharePoint applications.

Responsibilities:

Position is required to manage multiple aerospace projects simultaneously, working with a high sense of urgency and diplomacy in a highly dynamic environment. Statement of work includes leading key initiatives as prime focal for the organization, while leveraging the customer's resources to continually develop and deepen the customer relationship.

  • Prepares proposals, project documents, and metrics as needed, including budgets
  • Ensures resources are available and efficiently allocated to ensure high quality, successful project development and execution
  • Assists the team with resolving issues as they arise during project development and delivery
  • Ensures progress to plan on all projects, providing clear visibility and status to management
  • Monitors and controls financial performance (budget) for each project
  • Serves as the main point of contact for events and project requests for our key customers
  • Creates, maintains, and advances internal and external stakeholder relationships to build trust and strong partnerships
  • Drives integration across different organizations, developing a clear understanding of the client's business goals to execute the strategy, working with external customers and multiple business units
  • Develops and manages communication tools, metrics, and reports, including executive business strategy and initiative presentations, to support enhanced stakeholder awareness
  • Strives for the highest levels of service quality to ensure top-level customer satisfaction
