Job description

As an Electrical Engineer you will be responsible for the development of Ultrasound systems including the electrical architecture, circuit design, component selection, layout, electrical verification and transducer integration. You will be a subject matter expert (SME) with strong working knowledge of Analog, Digital, Signal Processing and Power Subsystem design of high frequency systems, familiar with all aspects of the system level design including the low noise analog front-end, A/D acquisition, digital signal processing and imaging functions. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be a member of a dynamic cross-functional team driving innovation into new products. This is an opportunity to take a product through the end-to-end development lifecycle, from inception through design, development, testing, deployment and support.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Perform architectural, circuit & system level electrical design
  • Perform schematic capture and lead PCB layout
  • Develop verification plans and conduct electrical design verification testing
  • Ensure designs meet cost, quality and reliability targets
  • Work cross-functionally with Program Management and other engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet system level requirements
  • Develop and manage relationships with 3rd party suppliers, vendors and external engineering resources
  • Conduct & participate in design reviews
  • Prototype & Evaluate new technologies
  • Support and troubleshoot production issues



Knowledge and Experience:


  • BS Electrical Engineering or higher preferred
  • 4-6 years of design experience
  • Demonstrated system & component level design of Analog, Mixed-Signal & High Speed Digital circuits
  • Experience designing power delivery subsystems, switching power supplies, grounding, shielding and low-noise design to meet system requirements
  • Experience with high density PCB layouts with mixed-signal requirements
  • Experience with board bring-up and troubleshooting
  • Experience with circuit modeling & simulation (Spice, Signal/Power Integrity, Matlab)
  • Experience with schematic & board design tools (Altium, Cadence, PadsPCB)
  • Experience using standard test equipment (digital oscilloscopes, function generators…)
  • Experience using PC based productivity tools (MS Office or Google Suite)
  • Excellent written & oral communication


Skills and Abilities:


  • Familiarity with PC architectures & standard interfaces (USB, I2C, SPI)
  • Experience developing and conducting electrical test & verification methodology
  • Experience performing regulatory & environmental testing
  • Experience designing systems containing uControllers & uProcessors
  • Design of systems with Digital Signal Processing
  • Scripting using Python or other scripting languages
  • Firmware/Software development in C
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 quality standard
  • Experience with Configuration Management tools (eg. Agile)
