Job Summary
Provides detailed technical analysis and administrative support, requiring broad experience, skill and procedural knowledge of policy accounting for Financial Operations. Supports SOX/SEC/Key Business controls and coordination of all associated audits.
Initiates, supports. and/or participates on project teams (formal and informal). Supports Financial Ops Supervisors and Manager, as well as other business units as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Participates in projects as a subject matter expert; including, new system implementations, new banking relationships and services, and new product launches.. Contributes ideas and implements process improvements/efficiencies geared toward quality, productivity, improvement of Customer Experience..
Investigates and resolves issues related to admin system batch and banking system errors. Submits system problem reports and/or project initiation requests to resolve persistent issues. Works with Partner Banks, IT, Distribution, and Finance/Accounting staff as appropriate to ensure awareness of the full scope and impact of any policy accounting system problem or concern.
Ensures all SOX/SEC/QA/Key Business controls are performed effectively and timely. by assisting the department Supervisor in performing periodic quality assurance and SOX control reviews related to banking, financial authority, and customer disbursement activities.. Makes recommendations for strengthening controls and related processes..
Acts as the point person in handling and ensuring timely delivery of internal, external, and ICFR (SOX) auditor documentation requests.
Provides support to operations staff in resolving policy accounting, suspense clearing, and customer disbursement issues.
Act as primary or back-up role for: IRS/state policy owner tax withholding and remittance filings; annual 1099/5498 filings, bank reconciliations; unclaimed property state filings and remittance; and/or suspense analysis/reporting.

Education Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
Experience Requirements
Experience and knowledge (or ability to learn) of policy accounting required. Previous experience working with banks, performing bank reconciliations, and/or performing unclaimed property and IRS/state tax filings is desired.
Special Skill Requirement
Accounting and/or billing system familiarity preferred Intermediate math, verbal and written communication skills required Intermediate desk-top Personal Computing skills required Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills preferred
