The Human Resources and Safety teams value collaboration, support, integrity, competence and consistency. The HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATOR assists with the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources and Safety Department to ensure the accurate and efficient operations of both departments. Works closely with the Payroll Accountant, Workforce Coordinator and other departments throughout the organization to provide a customer focused and effective HR support service.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
New Employee On-boarding - Facilitates the successful on-boarding of RDF and WALSH employees.
* Administers new employee on-boarding process including arranging drug testing, physical exams, background checks, and employment eligibility verification.
* Prepares job offers for field positions and conducts background checks.
* Conducts new hire orientations ensuring all new hire paperwork is completed and employees are educated on our harassment, safety, and other employment policies.
* Screens applicants for trade positions with workforce coordinator.
* Works with workforce coordinator to coordinate dispatch of union employees.
* Distributes and maintains company supply of PPE for existing and new hire employees.
HR Administration and Compliance - Administers employee programs and ensures compliance with company policies, union wage agreements, required government reporting and employee recordkeeping.
* Sets up and maintains employee files and all HR filing systems in order to retrieve employee information. Ensures records are maintained and destroyed in compliance with established retention schedules.
* Inputs and maintains employee data into the HR system including address changes and maintains files of backup documentation as required.
* Compiles and submits workforce training reports for RDF Builders Co.
* Manages and tracks employee training records.
* Maintains regional applicant tracking program.
* Responds to unemployment claims and represents the company during phone hearings.
* Ensures compliance with required postings and distributes to job sites as necessary.
* Maintains Section 3 hiring tracking logs.
* Assists with workers compensation claims management.
Support Services - Responds to internal and external inquires for information. Provides administrative support to other support functions.
* Acts as a resource to employees by answering HR and benefits questions. Assists the Human Resources department by fielding basic policy questions, escalating issues as appropriate.
* Provides administrative support to the safety department including coordination of safety committee meetings, minutes, assembling site specific safety binders, crisis management plan updates, ordering jobsite safety stickers, calculating safety incentive awards, coordinating and tracking safety training, and other safety administrative support as needed.
* Member of safety committee.
* Attends jobsite kickoff meetings.
* Provides backup assistance to receptionist as needed.
* Assist with managing company events including hook and slice event and charity events as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.
