Job description

Certain Lending is bringing the business purpose mortgage, a traditionally offline and manual financial product, into a modern platform for borrowers and capital partners. Our customers are the hundreds of thousands of real estate investors who use mortgage financing to acquire and improve properties, undertake new construction, and operate rental portfolios. These individuals and small businesses collectively borrow over $400B annually and many go through the process of obtaining debt multiple times per year. Certain is fundamentally changing how they finance these investments - bringing speed, transparency, and certainty to the process.

We are looking for a first recruiter to help us meet our ambitious post-Series B hiring goals. Up until this point, each team has sourced, interviewed, and onboarded their own new team members. We are excited to augment our current practices with someone who can think about the entire organization and the candidate experience we offer. An ideal first recruiter can operate as an individual contributor now as well as lead a team when we are larger.

Responsibilities

* Align with company leadership on hiring goal and profiles
* Write and maintain job postings in our ATS
* Proactively source candidates for highest priority jobs
* Screen candidates for fit and interest, pulling forward those with strong alignment and contribution potential
* Coordinate onsite interviews and provide candidate feedback
* Be part of the closing process for successful candidates

We realize that the above is more than one full-time role, so we are looking for someone who can work with us to prioritize the most important activities.

Requirements

* 2+ years of experience as a recruiter at a software startup or equivalent
* Ability to communicate the vision of a company, at a business and technology level
* Organized and detail oriented
* Desire to help grow an early stage company

Also, while we will prioritize many engineering roles, we do not require a technical recruiter background.
