SAS has an opening for an experienced Retail Store Manager. The position requires a people-oriented store leader that can drive business results through coaching and training. - Responsible for implementing and executing day-to-day store operations through application of SAS philosophy and standards of service, cleanliness and caring.
- Must direct and oversee up to 10 employees.
- Accountable for all inventories, finances and other assets within the store. Must comply with purchasing policies and control expenditures.
- Ensure customer satisfaction in all areas of sales and service.
- Ensure policies and procedures are communicated and followed.
- Work with San Antonio based District Management (DM) Team to set goals and implement plans to increase store volume.
- Maintain and make suggestions of adjustments to inventory levels.
- Responsible to work our Grass Roots Marketing programs to promote the store within a general store radius.
- Through training and support from the DM Team, you'll be able to learn the product inside and out, believe in the product as the best American-made quality comfort footwear and teach your team that enthusiasm and belief in the product and the company through your words and actions on a daily basis.
People Management
- Maintain a positive SAS attitude in all dealings with store associates, other company employees and all visitors, vendors and customers of the store.
- Promote a positive team spirit and motivate employees to reach goals.
- Lead, coach, and direct employees to ensure optimal store performance to company standards and philosophy. Set expectations and communicate regularly. Conduct regular store meetings.
- Interview and hire sales associates to appropriate staff your store with the help of your DM Team and/or human resources representatives.
- Hold associates accountable for position duties, training and development. Evaluate in written and verbal formats through progressive disciplinary action (PDA).
- Complete store operational/maintenance requirements by scheduling, assigning to employees, and following up.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have respect for co-workers, customers and the company.

- Must be mature, responsible, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Must be a team player that can work well with others.
- Must have an ability to work independently with solid follow-up and follow through.
- Must be organized and able to handle the pressure of deadlines professionally.
- Must exercise confidentiality.
- Some travel is expected so must be able to travel if and when it's needed.
- Excellent job performance in results and attendance.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Some college education is preferred.
- At least 1-2 years experience in retail store management.
- Experience in handling intricate employee relations is a plus.
