Job summary
The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Private Pricing team provides our Sellers & Partners with a deal management and analysis that enables and accelerates private pricing deals with our most important customers and partners. Our business is constantly evolving and we build software that drives that evolution. We are looking for a hands-on Senior Business Analyst with experience developing and delivering analytics portfolio as we build the next iteration of our system. Come join a team at the beginning of a product life cycle and help define the way AWS does business with its key customers.
A successful candidate will have strong business acumen and possess excellent statistical and analytical abilities. They will focus on creating actionable insights and recommendations and not just gathering data. They will have the ability to work with technology, product development, and business teams. They will have passion for data and analytics, be an independent innovator comfortable with ambiguity. They'll have strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and entrepreneurial environment, and driven by a desire to innovate Amazon's approach to this space.
This position may be based in our AWS offices in Seattle, WA; Dallas, TX; or Arlington, VA.
Key job responsibilities
* Apply analytics and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights and learning from large and complicated data sets.
* Conduct and present analyses on engagement trends, customer segments, and devices and feature usage to senior product leadership.
* Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support the needs of the business.
* Build various data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.
* Interface with cross functional teams, gathering requirements and delivering complete BI solutions.
* Design and analyze experiments to better understand how our feature design and marketing choices affect our customers.
* Access, manipulate, and join disparate data sets using SQL and Amazon Redshift.

As a Sr. Business Analyst, you will have an enormous opportunity to impact the customer experience and business of cutting-edge products and services. You'll be a key member of a growing organization's strategy of how to measure and improve the things that matter most to our customers. You will work with product leaders to analyze feature launches and engagement trends to generate key insights for future improvements. You will work with engineering teams to make sure that we have the data that helps us measure what matters most. Most importantly, you will work across teams to drive alignment of key metrics and performance indicators and set goals that help our teams achieve our long-term vision.

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Math, Finance, Statistics or a related discipline
* 5+ years product management/pricing strategy/analyst experience in a technology context
* Several years product analytics/product management/pricing experience
* Master's degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, or an equivalent quantitative field
* 7+ years product management/pricing strategy/analyst experience in a technology context
* Expert-level skills in writing and optimizing SQL to handle large datasets
* Proven experience working directly with customers to both gather new product requirements, and to explain existing product capabilities
* Proven track record of delivering results on large, cross-functional initiatives while managing multiple competing priorities
* Experience defining customer requirements for complex products or systems
* Understanding of relevant statistical measures such as confidence intervals, significance of error measurements, development and evaluation data sets, etc.
* Experience working directly with enterprise customers to both gather new product requirements, and to explain existing product capabilities
* Experience communicating with senior management as well as with colleagues from computer science, operations research, and business backgrounds.
