The role
On our team, you will be in the middle of it all - implementing functionality, architecting our system, squashing bugs, maintaining the health of our code, and continually growing as an engineer. The ideal candidate is both forward-thinking and hands-on, has a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a good mentor and co-worker. At SoFi, we pride ourselves on the collaboration between Product, Design and Engineering and so you will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, deploying and continual improvement and evolution.
This role is focused on our Affiliate partnerships and how we bring in new potential members via these acquisition channels. We strive to have easy to understand APIs and accurate data so that we can continue to optimize this channel for both our members and partners.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, code, test and deploy user-facing resilient and scalable products and experiences
- Work with multiple languages; Java, Kotlin, graphQL, Kafka, React to name a few to build performant and scalable backend applications in a cloud based microservices architecture
- Work with engineering, and product stakeholders in order to build the best financial products and tools. Collaborate with a team of like-minded engineers focused on building industry-leading software
- Owning and ideating on technical solutions for product requirements and user stories with minimal supervision
- Participate in design and code reviews, generate ideas for new initiatives and technologies
- Mentor other engineers, support the technical culture, and help grow the team
- Working in a fast-moving, highly-collaborative environment across multiple offices
- Bachelor's Degree, ideally in a technical field
- 3+ years programming experience, ideally on a modern stack. Internships and relevant school experience will be considered.
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves, collaborate with others, and get stuff done
- Affinity for solving problems and diving deep into the details
- Strong sense of responsibility; driving a project from inception to completion
- Agile Development Experience
- Our core stack is React / Java / Spring / PostgreSQL. Fluency of any OOP language and an understanding of relational databases is a great start.
- Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, refining designs together, working through code reviews and managing pull requests.
- Familiarity or interest in online marketplaces and acquisition efficiency
- Experience with public cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Full-stack experience
- Bonus: Experience in FinTech.
