Talent Acquisition Partner
The mission of the Allen Institute is to unlock the complexities of bioscience and advance our knowledge to improve human health. Using an open science, multi-scale, team-oriented approach, the Allen Institute focuses on accelerating foundational research, developing standards and models, and cultivating new ideas to make a broad, transformational impact on science.
The mission of the Allen Institute administration team is to provide support and structure to the scientific divisions. Coinciding with the team science approach, administration helps facilitate team learning and the overall mission of the institute.
We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Partner to join our team and support the full cycle of recruitment and pre-employment. As our new Talent Acquisition Partner, you will collaborate with scientific business unit leaders and hiring managers to proactively identify future hiring needs, attract and hire top talent and ensure a growing and diverse talent pipeline. The Allen Institute is fiercely committed to solving some of the biggest mysteries of bioscience, researching the unknown of human biology, in the brain, the human cell and the immune system.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to comprehend and promote the Allen Institutes mission, manage staffing progress to plan, understand the labor market for target positions, provide a high-quality candidate experience and demonstrate a high degree of decision quality in complex and ambiguous situations. Further, the ideal candidate will display a deep customer obsession, demonstrate a high say-do ratio, and contribute to an evolving culture of continuous process improvement.

Essential Functions
* Develop relationships and partnerships with hiring managers, teams, and candidates to ensure consistent and high-quality hiring practices while providing a superior candidate experience
* Develop and implement search strategies, recruiting quality talent through both active and passive sources; ensuring job requirements are met, expectations are clearly understood, and candidates are accurately assessed against set criteria
* Facilitate the application process and conduct verbal, virtual, and in-person interviews to provide hiring managers with candidate information in a timely manner
* Partner with the talent acquisition coordinator and other team members to provide an exceptional interview experience
* Negotiate compensation and document offer agreements
* Ensure regulatory compliance and process obligations are met for each position
* Regularly update applicant tracking system and provide updates on the status of open requisitions
* Engage in diversity partnership, activities, and other creative methodologies to create brand and opportunity awareness with future talent
* Collaborate with key stakeholders to communicate an employment brand strategy that reflects the Allen Institute employee value proposition and effectively engages underrepresented communities
* Build and manage strategic partnerships with external organizations and universities
* Manage and track recruiting funnel and source metrics to evaluate and inform recommendations for improvements and ensure hiring goals are achieved
* Continually improve documentation on talent acquisition processes to ensure consistency and clarity

Required Education and Experience
* Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of degree and experience
* Minimum of 3 years experience in full cycle recruiting
* Knowledge of hiring laws and processes
* Experience with data entry and process flows in an applicant tracking system
* Intermediate level of expertise using MS Office 365, including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
Preferred Education and Experience
* 5+ years experience in full cycle recruiting, including 2+ years experience inhouse corporate recruiting
* Experience regularly managing 30+ requisitions
* SHRM, SPHR, HRCI or other certification
* Experience recruiting for highly specialized, technical, healthcare, or scientific roles
* Training in, or experience with, process improvement techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TQM
* University and early career programmatic recruiting experience
* Experience building, maintaining, and leveraging affinity group partnerships to foster a diverse and inclusive talent pipeline
Physical Demands
* Ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds (career fair booth display and/or materials)
* Fine motor movements in fingers/hands to operate computers and other office equipment
* Ability to communicate with internal and external customers
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
* Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required
* This role is currently able to work remotely due to COVID-19 and our focus on employee safety. We are a Washington State employer, and remote work must be performed in Washington State. We continue to evaluate the safest options for our employees. As restrictions are lifted in relation to COVID-19, this role may return to work onsite.
Travel
* Occasional travel to job fairs, national conferences, educational institutions, or other partner organizations required
