JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for identifying and documenting business requirements, investigating business systems, identifying options for improving business systems and bridging the needs of the business with the use of information technology. Will provide a strong link between the business community and information technology in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and to recommend solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Makes recommendations based on product vision and market requirements, researched data and priorities.
* Will elicit information and ideas from subject matter experts, business owners, vendors, and others regarding existing and proposed business systems.
* Collaborates with stakeholders and subject matter experts in order to document, communicate, validate and refine necessary requirements and make recommendations.
* Serve as key resource for technology implementation projects.
* Assist business owner with business base development and RFP process (as applicable) during the project initiate phase.
* Under direction of the Project Manager, interpret business needs and translate into application and operational requirements.
* Serve as a liaison between business units and technology teams through which requirements flow.
* Assists in integration and acceptance Testing.
* Supports the development of training and implementation material.
* Participates in the implementation, and provides post-implementation support.
* Demonstrates compliance with all bank regulations for assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities knowledge may be gained through coursework and on-the-job training. Keeps up to date on regulation changes.
* Follows all Bank policies and procedures, compliance regulations, and completes all required annual or job-specific training.
* Maintain a working knowledge of Bank's written policies and procedures regarding Bank Secrecy Act, Regulation CC, Regulation E, Bank Security and other regulations as applicable to this job description.
* May be asked to coach, mentor, or train others and teach coursework as subject matter expert.
* Actively learns, demonstrates, and fosters the Umpqua corporate culture in all actions and words.
* Takes personal initiative and is a positive example for others to emulate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Requires a bachelor's degree in business, project management, business systems or equivalent.
* 4-5 years of relevant business analyst and/or project management and/or operations experience.
* Extremely strong business operations abilities, analytical and problem solving skills.
* Extremely strong data analysis skills including project management and/or operations.
* Knowledge of banking policies, procedures, practices and documentation.
* Extremely strong knowledge of development concepts and practices, potential applications, and customer requirements.
* Extremely strong project management skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
* Ability to work effectively with individuals and groups across the company to manage customer relationships.
* Proficiency with personal computers and related software packages such as Word and Excel, and other business machines.
* Online banking / digital channels knowledge and experience preferred.

* Preferred software skill knowledge - Power BI, Azure and Sequel

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

* Work involves sitting, occasional walking and lifting up to 10 pounds.
* Requires close visual acuity.
* Normal office environment.
* Occasional travel.
