HR Manager - Spokane, WA - VPI Quality Window (A JELD-WEN Company)
As our future HR Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining the culture of the VPI (a JELD-WEN company) by recruiting creatives, developing our diverse talent to grow and explore, and communicating all HR policies to people who would rather talk to you than read all the fine print. You will also lead all HR functions, and you will lead them with style.
You are polished and elegant, confidential and sharp. You will wear many hats. One day you may wear a cowboy hat, the next a pillbox hat, and later maybe even a fedora. You will wear unorthodox hats never before seen on this earth. And you can appreciate metaphors.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
* You will be in charge of finding talent. You'll compensate people in exchange for their creative and professional minds.
* You will own the system for benefits, vacations, open enrollment, and health care. You'll get lots of questions and tell people what they need to hear.
* You will be a trusted advisor and strategic business partner with the leadership team, who will welcome you and your terrific mind.
* You will be knowledgeable in all facets of the merit process and salary assessments. You'll help pay people, and people will like you for paying them.
* With legal counsel at your side, you will update the employee handbook and administer the anti-harassment stuff, because no one likes a bully.
* You will represent the best interests of the agency and the best interests of our people. We have a loose yet focused culture and we intend to keep it that way.
* You will be the go-to for risk management, including workers' comp, ergonomics (yes, we have standing desks), and safety issues.
* You will take on other tasks as needed because you are glamorous and dependable.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
* A high level of charisma, wit, and interpersonal skills; you'll be friends with everyone in the agency, and you will love them and they will love you
* The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with aplomb while maintaining poise, tact, and diplomacy
* Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
* Impeccable style encouraged but not required
Education and Experience
* A bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources management and/or business management
* Seven-plus years of experience as an exempt HR professional with recruiting experience; PRH certification preferred; manufacturing experience preferred
