Mortgage Specialist:

We are currently looking to fill the role of Mortgage Specialist to join our fast-paced and expanding team!


Job Purpose:

The Mortgage Specialist is primarily responsible for attracting new mortgage loan applications by developing and maintaining business relationships within the community, with realtors, referral partners and borrowers. The Mortgage Specialist creates business opportunities through networking, inside and outside sales.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited to):


Business Development: (80%)

• Attracts new mortgage loan applications by developing relationships within the community, specifically with the real estate community; making sales calls to prospective clients.

• Approves mortgage loans by examining application and supporting documentation; estimating credit-worthiness; calculating repayment risk.

• Completes mortgage loans by monitoring collection, verification, and preparation of mortgage loan documentation; scheduling and completing mortgage loan closing.

• Maintains high customer service rating.


Initiate Loan Application Process: (15%)

• Meet with borrowers to educate on loan process, and obtain information for loan application.

• Approves loans within specified limits, and refers loan applications outside those limits to management for approval.

• Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans.

• Explain to borrowers the different types of loans and credit options that are available, as well as the terms of those services.

• Obtain and compile copies of loan applicants' credit histories, corporate financial statements, and other financial information.

• Stay abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products to better meet borrowers' needs.

• Analyze potential loan markets and develop referral networks to locate prospects for loans.

• Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

• Active NMLS License required.

• Minimum of 3 years of mortgage industry experience

• Knowledge of Encompass mortgage originating software.


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

• May sit/stand for long periods of time.

• Requires lifting of up to 50lbs at a time.
