Job description

Production Manager

Position Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and is responsible for supporting and coordinating all production operations. This position supports 4 to 5 Supervisors and 8 to 10 team leads to effectively and efficiently perform the functions of their jobs to achieve and increase production levels. This individual is responsible for aligning the company's production functions to the company's mission, vision, core values, and overall growth.

Reporting to this position are:

  • Shop Supervisors
  • Other Employees as needed (i.e trainers)

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing and managing production operations of assigned departments
  • Working collaboratively with other Production Manager to achieve and/or increase production levels.
  • Ensures efficient collaboration and coordination between departments, including management.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas of production.
  • Show effective improvements with departments scorecards.
  • Continuously improve all areas responsible for with lean principles.
  • Continue to develop reporting supervisor's skillsets and capabilities.
  • Stay current with new technologies and trends in the cabinet manufacturing industry and effectively communicate this to the Director of Manufacturing.
  • Manage human and material resources to meet production levels.
  • Works with supervisors to maintain safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain healthy relationships with vendors and co-workers.
  • Enforces company policies and procedures. Actively participates with management team to support and implement initiatives.
  • Assists in managing department labor and material requirements.

Required Education/Experience

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role (3 to 5 years) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing
  • Knowledge of raw materials, quality systems, and standards.
  • Associate Degree (preferred)
