Position Summary

We are seeking an individual to join our team as a Scientist to participate in the development of pre-clinical and clinical development of vascular cell therapy products. The Scientist participates in early phase development of pre-clinical and clinical stage cell therapy products. Primary responsibilities include research and development and process development activities aimed at translating target therapeutic cell type production from bench to clean room manufacturing. As part of a small team, this position will perform additional tasks to support the lab/organization, as well as assist laboratory and manufacturing operations as needed.

Position Duties:

  • Design and execute experiments to differentiate, purify, and deliver enriched populations of our cell therapy product pipeline at scale using GMP-compliant materials and techniques.
  • Accurately document experimental data and communicate results to Vascugen team scientists and management.
  • Draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Batch Records for Vascugen product(s).
  • Interface with external partners and collaborators to establish in vitro and in vivo functionality and safety of Vascugen product(s).
  • Strategize and collaborate to generate development plans with Vascugen scientists and management.
  • Facilitate technology transfer of developed processes to GMP manufacturing facilities.
  • Participate in the generation of regulatory documentation, including IND applications.


Requirements

  • PhD or MD with appropriate laboratory research history
  • 2+ years experience in pluripotent stem cell culture and differentiation
  • Knowledge of developmental principles
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Self-driven work ethic
  • Creative experimental design to address product and clinical needs
  • Experience with preparative and analytical techniques including: Cell purification, Gene editing, Flow cytometry, PCR, immunocytochemistry.
  • Ability to work within a team toward a common goal
  • Adaptability in taking on new responsibilities, as needed, to reach the clinic
  • Preferred experience with IND document preparation
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a typical office environment involving exposure to fluorescent lighting, potential chemical fumes, contact with synthetic materials and air conditioning.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for 4 hours
  • Ability to type at a computer for 4 hours
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
