As a Process Technician - Plastics, you will be responsible for managing and running the plastic injection molding and extrusion process along with equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures. Normal working hours will be on 2nd shift working Monday - Friday from 3:00pm - 11:30pm with start and end times flexing 2 hours to assist with coverage for 1st and 3rd shift.

Responsibilities:
Your day will include:

Manage plastic injection molding equipment and processes. Including the daily management, control, monitoring and adjustment of running parameters to produce an acceptable and consistent product while controlling scrap and other expenses.

Diagnose, trouble shoot and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical plastic injection molding equipment failures at all facilities.

Conduct necessary tool changeovers and ensure proper settings are set for each part number.

Design, repair and set-up of all the injection molding dies to ensure the life, consistency and quality of the parts from the dies.

Source and manage outside vendors to help maintain all dies and equipment while looking at cost reduction.

Assist Manufacturing Engineering and Process Engineering in designing and fabricating prototype machines and devices, using current mechanical, electrical, pneumatic/hydraulic devices for project development and tryout; prepare prototypes by using all machine shop and other company facility equipment and facilities.

Make emergency repairs when necessary to prevent excessive down time and production delay during shift and be available during off-hours.

Ensure the part quality meets the drawing specifications.

Responsible for tool and equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM's) program completions.

Qualifications:

Two year degree in Plastic Injection Molding, Extrusion Molding or other related technical field/trade and 3+ years of job experience providing familiarity with trade techniques, methods and procedures. Degree requirement may be lifted with 5+ years experience as an injection molding technician and demonstration of all required knowledge.

Knowledge of layouts, materials, equipment and devices as to design, purpose and operation related to plastic injection and extrusion molding.

Comfort and understanding of electrical schematics and diagrams along with knowledge of electronic process controls.

Informal leadership skills to help lead, delegate, communicate with coworkers with a collaborative team approach.

Curious and inquisitive mindset with focus on problem-solving

Valid Driver's License
