Job description

This full time, permanent Manager of Quality Engineering opportunity is at a dynamic, employee-owned company with an employee stock option plan. They won the Top 100 Workplace Award five years in a row and no employee works more than 45 hours per week. The company has had repeated record sales and profits. They even did well during the recession. With over 100 new projects each year, employees love that there is always something new to work on. This position is available due to the retirement of a long term employee. The company would like the successful candidate to move into engineering management in the next five years.

The duties and responsibilities of the successful candidate will encompass the following:

* Working with complaints in the RTA process
* Helping with the internal ISO documentation and audits
* Helping with customer audits and assessments
* Inspecting, measuring and testing equipment
* Being responsible for first article inspections and supplier quality
* Inspecting the PPAP process
* Inspecting Bills of Material
* Inspecting routings/process sheets
* Inspecting in-process production
* Inspecting test methods
* Inspecting incoming raw materials
* Performing supplier assessments
* Working with ISO 9001:2015 QMS
* Performing internal and customer audits
* Leading continuous improvement efforts
* Supporting other departments

Candidates will have a minimum background consisting of the following:

* A four year degree in engineering
* Five or more years of of investigating and resolving customer complaints
* Two or more years of experience leading ISO audits
* Possess a working knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts
* Two or more years of experience managing quality employees
* Working knowledge of PPAP requirements and lean manufacturing concepts
* Experience with blueprint reading and ISO 9001
* A solid work history
* A US citizen or possess a green card
* A residence within 45 minutes
