*Overview of the role*
As a member of the Quality Team, the Family Liaison Officer will support services to build engagement with the family members of the people we support, obtain feedback for quality monitoring purposes and improve organisational engagement.
Working cohesively with the other members of the Quality and Operations Teams, the Family Liaison Officer H&S Manager will support with difficult relationships and drive initiatives throughout the organisation to improve engagement.
*Responsibilities*
· Work with managers, staff and people in services to identify how engagement with families works, including looking into particular concerns around communication.
· Support services to develop good connections and rhythms with people's families.
· Obtain feedback from families around communication and relationships with services and use this to aid improvements.
· Develop organisational strategies for family engagement in services.
· Develop organisation opportunities for wider engagement with families involving teams outside of services, including events for families to attend.
· Develop and run annual periodic quality assurance questionnaires across the organisation.
· Support the Quality Managers and Quality Auditors with obtaining feedback from families for quality audits and inspections, following up on specific issues to identify if improvements have been made and what further support is required.
· Provide support to services to make improvements following feedback from people around engagement with families.
· Develop and review questions and formats for recording information relating to family engagement.
· Provide support where there are relationships between services and families that are experiencing difficulty, including carrying out an independent review of the difficulties and working with both sides to find positive outcomes.
· Produce guidance and updates to services around family engagement work.
· Support new managers to build up family engagement skills.
· Produce reports and summaries of the outcome of family liaison work.
· Review and analyse data to identify issues, trends and support or needs.
· Work with the other Quality and Operations Team members around engagement issues arising out of audits and monitoring.
· Attend Managers meetings or Teams calls to provide updates.
· Review CQC reports to identify themes, improvements needed and support around engagement issues.
· Support with the development of training and induction around Support with the development and review of the H&S Management Development Programme.
· Carry out a Quality Assurance review across the organisation, producing questionnaires for stakeholders and reports for services and the organisation as a whole.

*Required qualifications* :
· A minimum of 3 years' experience working in care services with a track record of supporting positive relationships between the service and people's families.
· Solid organisation and time management skills.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a positive way with colleagues.
· Attention to detail, good reporting, planning and administration skills.
· Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
· In depth knowledge of the needs of people we support and CQC requirements.
· UK Full driving license and own car, willingness to travel and occasional overnight stays.
