Job description
Who are we?
Thames Water is the UK's largest water and wastewater company. We make a daily difference to our 15 million customers by supplying 2.6 billion litres of water through 32,000 km's of pipes, to keep taps flowing and toilets flushing. We are an essential service and have operated throughout the Covid19 pandemic.
At Thames Water, every one of our actions, big and small, matters every day. Water is essential to daily life, and that means our business is always open.
What you will be doing
The Alarm Monitoring Centre (AMC) is a hub of communication for Thames Water that continuously monitors our security estate. There are approximately 429 sites connected to the AMC. The AMC is connected to these remote sites through multi face communications to CCTV, IDS, Electronic access control to Radio pad systems, ADSL line etc.
The AMC lead role is to support the business in identifying, analysing and managing the risks either caused by malicious intent or requiring emergency response. They will do this by a means of minimising the impact of undesired and unexpected events on our business activities caused by impact to our security alarm estate.
The first role of the AMC lead will be to manage the transition plan from a facilities managed function to a fully integrated TW business unit within Asset Protection - this should be completed in 6 - 12 months.
The AMC lead will create and own a security incident reporting system to ensure all aspects of alarm management are managed through to conclusion with reported actions tracked and escalated where necessary and capture findings, action plans and recommendations in detailed written reports.
We're looking for you to:
Our security team at Thames Water is assuring the continuous delivery of water to our customers. For that purpose, we protect our staff and our systems from security threats with a set of processes and technologies and with a strong collaboration with our partners.
Our competitive salary package includes an excellent contributory pension, 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service and a wider benefits scheme.
We also have a referral scheme, where you can receive £750 for helping someone get a permanent position within the company.
We're proud of the positive ways of working we have adopted during the pandemic. We want to create a more flexible and dynamic environment so all our colleagues can thrive. For our office-based roles we are moving to a hybrid approach where we will provide options around working from our offices, our operational sites and home dependent on role/team/individual. This will be discussed during the assessment process.
Thames Water is a unique, rewarding and diverse place to work. If you join our team, you'll enjoy fast-tracked career opportunities, flexible working arrangements and unparalleled benefits. We're also proud to be an equal opportunity employer, Stonewall Diversity Champion and Disability Confident Leader and we are a Times Top 50 Employer for Women.
