Manufacturing Engineer wanted in Kirckaldy

Our client is a large manufacturer based in the Kirkcaldy area is looking for services of a Maintenance Engineering Technician.

The role of a Technician within the Engineering department is to support the Production departments in achieving their budgeted production plan throughout the year. Technicians also ensure that some of the statutory requirements associated with a modern production unit are met in in line with the companies Health & Safety & Environmental policies. Specialised in either an electrical or mechanical maintenance environment and have the necessary experience and exposure within the other field.

This role involves working a 38 hour week within a three shift pattern over a five day week (Mon - Fri). A multi-skilled team of three technicians per shift provide the engineering support to all production departments.

You will be part of a team of 12 Technician grouping within the Engineering Department. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leaders.

Key Skills

Exhibit a sound Health & Safety work ethic at all times.

Use knowledge and experience of sound engineering practices within a modern production environment to offer front line maintenance support to all production departments on a daily basis.

Carry out PPM across the site as required.
Carry out routine maintenance tasks on Site Services. (Compressed Air Systems. HPHW Systems, Package Boilers, Cooling Towers and Refrigeration Plant).

Fault find & rectify mechanical & electrical faults in a modern production environment to include PLC control systems.

Make adjustments as required. Install, fault find & rectify AC & DC drives.
Be involved in process improvement projects designed to reduce downtime & improve departmental efficiencies. Carry out statutory site inspections in line with the company's legal requirements.

Plant & equipment running time Quality of work (e.g. does the repair last etc) Attendance levels Back-log of work Training Records and matrix Competency matrix Planning and scheduling Budget compliance (on some Capex and CI projects) All the above will be measured through objectives, skills matrix, performance appraisals and one to one's.

Qualifications

Must have completed an Engineering Apprenticeship \/ Modern Apprenticeship. Minimum qualification to HNC standard in a relevant engineering field. Proven experience within a heavy production environment
