Assessment Officer- Housing Benefit OverpaymentsPermanent, Full timeSalary: Scale 6 £27,798 - £30, 048We are looking to appoint an Assessment Officer in the Housing Benefits Overpayments Team within the Income & Debt department.The successful candidate will work as part of a team and be responsible for the collection of Housing Benefit Overpayments in line with current legislation, ensuring all necessary action is taken to collect revenue efficiently and effectively. They will process respond to enquiries received by letter, telephone and electronically, as well as undertake proactive work to improve collection.If you have experience in a debt collection environment and enjoy working with the public then this is an exciting opportunity to join a busy team focused on high performance and working to challenging financial and operational targets.You will be an enthusiastic, committed team player, understanding best practice and customer contact procedures with experience in debt collection.
