Data Cabling Engineer (AV industry)

Alecto Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer based around Bromley/South East London to join our clients expanding team. This position has become available due to company growth and would prefer someone at this time with experience that can hit the ground running.

Our client are a renowned managed services provider based in the South East. They provide IT and AV solutions into thousands of organisations across the UK including schools, hospitals, businesses, the government and more. Their services include their own intellectual property including authentication, web filtering and email filtering.

They have over 3,000 schools in their growing customer base and are looking for a Field Installation Engineer to join their installation team.

Key Responsibilities

Installation of VoIP, CCTV and WiFi systems within a school environment
Installation of new and extending existing data cabling infrastructures
Installation of Audio Visual equipment with a school, HE and FE environment
Conducting site surveys, providing detailed written reports of your findings

Experience

You will need to be able to demonstrate working experience along with in-depth knowledge of at least 3 of the following technologies:

Networking technology including firewalls, switching and routing
Cisco and/or Pragma VOIP systems
Managed Wi-Fi systems preferably Cisco, Meraki or UniFi
IP CCTV systems
Cat5e / Cat6a / Fibre Cabling techniques including Installation, Termination & Testing
AV equipment such as IWB's, projectors and touchscreen TV's

A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (previously CRB check) is required for this role as you will be involved with schools

In return, the company are prepared to pay up to £35,000 as a basic salary. There is also overtime available paid at extra rates.
