Job description

As Account Director in our small but growing team, you will provide expert strategic counsel to existing clients, lead client accounts and members of our internal team, and identify and deliver new business opportunities. This will include the following key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development and delivery of proactive and reactive media engagement strategies and campaigns
  • Direct account teams to exceed client expectations by leading and motivating team members to produce high quality work, within budget and on time
  • Provide expert 1-1 counsel to the client, assessing problems and creating effective solutions
  • Be prepared to respond to any crises on the account quickly and effectively
  • Develop relationships with senior journalists, and manage contacts with key industry spokespeople and sector influences
  • Actively mentor junior members of the team and support their professional development
  • Support co-founders to formulate business strategy
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, build creative strategies and take a lead on pitches

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Successful track record of a role/s in PR, journalism or another relevant industry (5 plus years)
  • Strong industry network and contacts
  • Significant interest and knowledge of current affairs
  • Proven leadership qualities to collaborate with and motivate a team of individuals
  • Experience navigating and advising on crisis comms
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills with strong organisational and planning skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills
  • Deeply committed to delivering positive outcomes for clients
  • Desirable to have team leadership experience
