Job description

We are a fast growing business and a leading provider of Healthcare Service solutions including Wheelchair Services. We work closely with the NHS and Social Care Organisations providing a complete outsourced wheelchair service that significantly reduces costs, delivers better quality and an enhanced patient experience.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the well-established team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and technicians within our Kent and Medway Wheelchair Service based in Ashford.

The job is a developmental role and would suit a newly qualified therapist or someone with previous experience in neurology, orthopaedics or paediatrics.

The role of a wheelchair therapist will use all your clinical skills and is a very varied and challenging role. We provide a clinical service to the residents of Hertfordshire. We are a whole of life service providing a service to children as young as 30 months with no upper age limit.

We assess individuals who meet the eligibility criteria for the service who have a wide and varied range of conditions including both physical and psychological where their mobility is affected. No day is ever the same.

We assess for and provide a range of wheelchairs, manual and electrically powered wheelchairs for indoor and indoor outdoor use, Children's postural buggies, a range of pressure and postural supportive seat cushions, back supports and bespoke custom made seating solutions.

About you:

A BSc degree in Occupational or Physiotherapy and current HCPC professional registration
Able to demonstrate strategies for organising own work load and a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet competing priorities
Previous experience of working in a wheelchair service isn't essential but would be advantageous
Ability to work under pressure and work well within a team
You must hold a current UK Driving Licence (minimum 3 years)
