I am working with a South West London ASC (Autistic Spectrum Condition) school looking for a nurturing and passionate Behaviour Support Worker for a specialist 1:1 transition role. I am looking to speak to professional and committed mentors who are looking for a role that will elevate their career as you will be guided by a doctoral level BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst)

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the education of a boy, aged 10, who is looking forward to transitioning into school. You will work in a specialist ASC setting run by a wonderful Headteacher who nurtures staff wellbeing and creative input. In addition, you will be directly supported by an experienced, doctoral level BCBA (Board Certified Behaviour Analyst).

Duties:

Part of the role will be to escort the student to and from school so you will need to be local to the Clapham area. Taxis from his home and back will be paid for. This will be a phased transition building up to full time with the minimum hours being 4 hours per day and max 7.5 hours. You will be responsible to nurture this bright 10 year old whilst ensuring boundaries remain clear, you will use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies to assist him throughout his transition.

Behaviour Support Worker requirements:

    Essential - Passion for working with young people who require additional support in order to access education and social development Essential - Resilience, patience, calm manner Essential - Experience of working in an education setting with a focus on behaviour and emotional regulation Essential - Ability to build strong and meaningful relationships Essential - Strong Literacy and Numeracy abilities, GCSE A-C minimum, graduates are encouraged to apply Beneficial - ABA, CBT, PBS or relevant behaviour and ASC experience/qualifications Beneficial - Experience of working with Autism, ADHD, sensory processing difficulties and learning difficulties, or experience with SEMH, trauma, social communication
