Job description

The post holder will have a central role in the recruitment of new students for Screen and Film School Manchester. You will be involved in the organisation and delivery of open days, applicant days and tours of facilities at the college as well as attending school liaison events to support the Outreach Manager to promote the SFS Manchester offering. You will be an ambassador for SFS, providing exceptional customer experience for those interested in applying to the film school. Moving enquiries to applications and converting applications to new students - the Applicant Experience Manager will be accountable for converting leads into applications and nurturing those applications into new students.The role requires a methodical, professional, and personable approach as it will heavily involve collaborating with the wider marketing and admissions department, who are all at the forefront of student recruitment at Screen and Film School. Attention to detail and a desire to attain thorough knowledge of the courses and applicant processes is integral to the role.The Applicant Experience Manager will be involved heavily in focused efforts to achieve targets and will be responsible for presenting them at key points throughout the recruitment cycle.Essential criteria for applicantConfident public speakerExcellent personal presentationStrong communication skills - verbal and writtenA background in either the film industry, creative arts or educationProven outstanding customer service skillsAble to work with set targetsAn ability to effectively manage a varied workloadAdvanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Team playerEvent organisation experienceWillingness to gain a detailed understanding of the SFS curriculum, college operations and ethosAbility to work occasional unsocial hoursDesirable criteria for applicantA background in higher education, or further education within the creative arts sectorPrevious or current work experience at SFS or a BIMM Group collegeKnowledge of UCAS and admissions processes generally within higher educationSupervisory experienceGood understanding of need to evaluate and experience of research/evaluation activity using feedback mechanismsKey accountabilitiesYou will work with the SFS Head of Marketing and Admissions, SFS Marketing and Admissions team and the SFS Manchester College Principal on a weekly basis to meet the following key accountabilities:1. Open Day organisation and deliveryAssist with planning and organisation of open/applicant daysProvide "on the ground" assistance with sourcing open/applicant day events staffEnsure all staff involved are trained on the required processesEnsure paperwork and handouts are current and are collated for any eventLook after all guests visiting SFS events- ensuring a bespoke experience is deliveredEnsure the day runs to scheduled times and monitor attendance and punctuality of scheduled applicantsCollect and utilise customer feedback to improve the SFS recruitment eventsManaging the reception team and student ambassadors at the local recruitment events (open days, applicant days, etc).Report to both the SFS Head of Marketing and Admissions, and the SFS Manchester College Principal on a weekly basis on the events - effectiveness, responses to applicant feedback, recommending improvements2. Applicant Day Organisation and DeliveryAssist with planning, organisation and delivery of applicant daysProvide "on the ground" assistance with sourcing applicant day staffEnsure all staff involved are trained on the required processes and have the correct materials neededEnsure paperwork and handouts are current and are collated for any eventProvide the SFS Head of Marketing and Admissions with regular updatesWelcome prospective applicants and their guests - ensure they are accommodated and receive all the information they requireEnsure applicant 1-1 slots run to scheduled times and monitor attendance and punctuality of scheduled applicantsManaging the reception team and student ambassadors at the local recruitment events (open days, applicant days, etc).3. Film School toursTo deliver tours of the school when required and provide course information to:a. Prospective students and their parents/guestsb. Small group bookingsc. AgentsThese may be pre-booked or ad-hoc requestsTo co-ordinate and confirm the film school tour bookings between the Marketing and Admissions department and the SFS Manchester College Principal. To ensure the appropriate staff member is booked to conduct the tour - whether this is yourself, or another member of the film school.4. Recruitment and OutreachThe post holder will be expected to support with local schools and college events across the North to promote SFS Manchester to prospective students.Organise school tours and events either at an SFS building or on their campus to present SFS courses and promote SFS servicesWork collaboratively with the Outreach Manager to support with attending school and college events5. Phone calls and communication with incoming StudentsMaintain accurate information on Salesforce and appropriate databases to track the progress of all applicants through the various stages of the application process from enquiry to enrolment.Maintain regular contact with all applicants through the various stages of the application process from enquiry to enrolment ensuring that they are provided with accurate and up-to-date information at each stage of the process.6. Data Management & TargetsAssist with keeping accurate records for applicantsWorking with SFS Head of Marketing and Admissions, and the SFS Manchester College Principal, to set yearly targets both on application and conversion rates and present them at key points of the recruitment cycle.Ensure the correct database is used for all processes followedLiaise with the Admissions Assistant for Manchester to ensure the correct reports are available for the department.Comply with and implement as appropriate, all of BIMM's policies and procedures, with particular reference Safeguarding, Equality and Diversity, and Health and Safety.NB: This is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities of this post.
