*What does support worker do?*

The role of a support worker is to ensure the people we work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. Supporting someone with learning disability isn't just personal care, you could be taking people shopping, cinema, bowling, spending days on trips out and many more activities.

Your role as a Support Worker [but not limited to]:

· To participate in the shared implementation of support/care plans for individuals including provision for the physical and personal support needs and their emotional, intellectual and social well-being

· To support service users accessing the community and to organise and participate in appropriate leisure or other activities outside of their own homes

· To maintain, write records and reports on each service user in accordance with Company policies and guidelines.

· To ensure that care plans are followed and important information is recorded when appropriate

· To be aware of the procedures for taking appropriate action in case of an emergency

*Where would I work?*

Peppard House is a large, detached period property, that supports seven adults with moderate to severe learning disabilities and associated complex needs.

The home has three floors and includes a large lounge, dining room and two

sensory rooms. Three of the bedrooms are on the ground floor (one is en-suite) and the other four are on the first floor. The top floor has a sensory room,

separate bathroom and staff office.

The home is situated close to Caversham Village and the River Thames.

*What experience do I need?*

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have previous experience working with people with learning disabilities or other disadvantaged groups.
