Job description

Sustainability Director - Oxford - Fantastic Benefits

We currently have fantastic opportunity for an experienced Director of Sustainability to join an award winning design consultancy in Oxford.

Our client is a leading multi-disciplinary design consultancy, providing a wide range of services across the majority of industry sectors including commercial, health, education, defence, residential and community.

Their services include architecture, building surveying, building services engineering, planning, interior design, sustainability, civil and structural engineering, quantity surveying, project management, CDM and health and safety services.

This is a one time opportunity to join their practice and shape the future of sustainability across their regional offices.

The role will provide high level sustainability support through demonstrable expertise in the field of sustainable design, with an understanding of how it impacts all disciplines and sectors across their offices.

The sustainability team acts as a catalyst, advancing their sustainability advice and processes and showing thought leadership both inside and outside the company.

As a director you are expected to manage the workload of the sustainability specialists to ensure that work is done on time, and to standard.

You will maintain and develop team profitability by providing an efficient and effective service to the practice and its clients.

You will need to promote the practice to obtain new projects and new clients, hence a strong history of business development within the sustainability field is essential.

The role will involve working with an established sustainability team as well as expertise found within their other technical disciplines (particularly M&E and architecture, but also civils, structural and building surveying) providing design and technical advice on projects for a variety of clients; however it will also mean bringing in new resource and skills to move the team forward and provide a broader understanding of the climate challenge and our ability to positively influence it.
