Pastoral Support/Aspiring Counsellors TA- Reading

This is a great foot in the door for an aspiring counsellor or graduate to gain invaluable experience within an educational setting. Such candidate will be providing essential support and play a crucial role in supporting those most vulnerable and their mental health. This beautiful school located in Reading offer a supportive environment for their students which offers a wide curriculum which enables their students to gain valuable experience while becoming inspired learners, with the confidence to assist them is life outside school and in the world of work.

Such candidate will be working with SEMH (social and emotional mental health) ages 11-18 years.

This secondary school work in partnership with external professionals including educational and occupational psychologists, counsellors and speech and language therapists. A positive, enthusiastic individual who is able to bring previous knowledge and experience to the classroom is exactly what this school is looking for. The students within such school require a supportive teaching assistant who able to adapt to different situations. With SEN widely varying, the children have many different needs, which should always be a priority. Suitable experience from working with either children is greatly beneficial. A minimum of Level 3 qualifications or equivalent is required, with a degree being most desirable.
